i would love to frank, but to be perfectly honest - and dont take this the wrong way - i dont trust your chocolate. sick of lemon, been making lemonade from lemons for too many years.
did you get that slant6 going yet or did it keel over and try to become a boxer?
do you think you will ever get over your enmity to trimmers or was the tangled tassles on your SHB pillows too much to take? You do know that a couple of bits of gnocchi strung on the rearview mirror can be equally as enticing dont you? no need for a trimmer, just some brown string and pasta shells should do the trick

AHH, Those heady days of 1996 was offered 327 hk registered CAMS log books 320hp rear wheels with dyno paperwork. Was a mates car from monaro car club $8000.00.Wife said no. Why do you want two monaros? Shame about that both the monaro and wife are gone. I miss that monaro.Whats the difference between a monaro and the wife, the monaro stops whining when you get home.LTMS.

looking forward to sharing some grappa with you frank. how about you come over and bring your wife Maria, and your daughter (Maria), and your mum (Maria) and also your cousin (Maria). Then while your ladies are shaving their backs we can discuss filling those holes on your roof left by the taxi sign.

If it is the original tags for the body and tags are not messed with its a 350 auto. There is no big tank breather hole and as pointed out by one of your "imaginary friends" above it has no radius rod holes visible. _______________________________________________________ If we all had the same (good) taste, who would buy all the Fords? |

Hi Allan,
Firstly thank you for reading and responding to my post. You have asked me to elaborate on my reasoning and I will do my best to oblige.
The benchmark as it presently stands in Australia when it comes to true worth of these cars is what an insurance company will agree to cover it for.
Tony, there is a fundamental difference between an insured value and market value... the insured value is always higher by 15 - 20% and you always over insure things of value such as your home and contents and in this case a classic car... and whilst I aknowledge that you most certainly would have a beautiful car the only reason it is insured for $200K is that the sale precedent has already been set for the 350 at that value.... your insurer would also take into account things like how often it comes out in the sunshine etc in determining their risk... and they are quite happy taking your money off you at that amount as it is very low risk for them...
In the case of an HT GTS 350, Shannons who conducts the auction you mention along with many others in the Eastern states, have insured my car (in todays economic climate) for 200k. They know the car very well and have inspected it each time the renewal is due. They confirm that it is a better car than the Sebring Orange example that sold for $200,000. This is real worth, irrespective of what an individual may wish to pay to own the car if it was for sale.
Tony, Shannons do not know sh1t from clay when it comes to authenticating a vehicle for originality.... they are not the recognized authority on muscle car values.... the sales department are only interested in commission... and there is nothing wrong with that... but everyone has to understand they are simply used car salesmen and selling cars is all they are interested in... they dont know.. and dont want to know whether a car is period correct... they hide behind a myriad of disclaimers that indemnify them if they market and sell a car that turns out not to be what it was represented as being...
I know ... I have sold a car through them and it was a laughable experience and one i will not repeat in a hurry...
You have used the example of cars like the Warwick Yellow GTS 327 dropping 75k on the asking price, but still remaining over the 200k mark. It would appear that demand is at a low at the present time, but that car, as will the best of the marque will only drop below the ALREADY ESTABLISHED SALES THRESHOLD that you have ackgnowledged, if they are sold prematurely. My conclusion then cannot take into consideration personal cicumstances and reasons why owners of such cars put them up for sale.
Tony
I agree with you here about personal circumstances and people needing to sell.... but whether people need to sell or its just time to sell and move to another project or pay off a mortgage then the seller will always need to come to the market... the market dictates a sale price not an insurer...
cheers Alan

Ohh well , its an auto then? , thats fine by me because that was what I was going to run in it anyway. The breather hole for the fuel tank ?, maybe due to the arse end off another car has been welded in! Ill drill a freaking hole in it!!
At the end of the day $3500 is not over priced for what I got!!
Thank you HK1837 for pointing this info out!
And to you Anonymous Tools STFU !
Good day!!
