Hey Guys Was wondering whats the best gearbox to use behind a 327 chev? It's going in my HK Premier and I'd like to keep it on the column. Would it be just as easy to use a GM V8 3spd and get a Chev bellhousing? Any info appreciated Cheers Stephen [email protected]http://gallery.oldholden.com/69HT_MUNRO/ |

Your easiest way would be to find an original HK-HG with all synchro box and get the full conversion including clutch pedal, linkages etc. Youll struggle to find a V8 3spd so just get a 6cyl one and rebuild it as a V8 one. I can get you new 3spd V8 input |

So is it possible to use GM V8 all synchro 3spd with chev to aussie bellhousing. Is there any difference in the length of the input shaft and the little bush that goes into the back of the crank. Clutch is no problem that is something I can sort.

All you need is an aussie 4spd conversion setup as the 3spd is exactly the same. Just has to be a V8 one.
HKs were optional with all Synchro box behind a 6cyl. I just bought a complete car last year. AFAIK the 3spd column is the same as HT-HG.
