Hi All, What would be the first model holden that "Factory Air Conditioning" was an available option?

i had a 71 hq with factory air con, ive never heard of factory air con in any earlier holden
if it wasnt for the last minute id get nothing done

well ill be stuffed, ive never heard of a hk with air con
funny really, considering the belmonts didnt even have heaters
if it wasnt for the last minute id get nothing done

HK1837 is correct, the HK was the first Holden to have air conditioning as a factory option. Yes, Belmonts & Kingswoods in those days had very minimal standard equipment, but the option list was huge. I think Holden have always been a bit behind in development....look how long it took them to get fuel injection......
worsed of all though, it took them till 2005 to get a 4 valve head in the VE..... V6 which still then put out less torque than the

fuel injection.....I was comparing Holden to other makers besides Ford...try Mercedes.Its called innovation.
3.6 might produce more power as it does ...but at higher revs...not easy to drive around at 5000 revs....this is handy on European highwys...no

I have seen the early aircons in Holdens, underdash with a lion emblem on them , saw one in a HT Brougham. Interestly the dictionary says the word Brougham means an english statesman ! Edited by user Tuesday, 24 February 2009 6:44:10 PM(UTC)

to add fuel to the fire, wasnt the HQ the first holden to be considered for some form of fuel injection & that is why there is a spot on the 202 deck lid badge for the EFI or DFI to go, my understanding was it was going to be a option but was dropped due |

I havent heard that story about the 202 badge before.

Also it should be remembered that the Mercs they imported were the top line models, a bit like saying fards are great as the LTD had all the bells and wistlers and a Belmont has nothing.
