I have a few live axle, disc brake diff questions. VN onwards

What hp is a Borg Warner diff like fitted to a VN-VR Commodore able to take? 400hp? 450hp?

If the axles are the weak point, what if the axles are replaced with billet ones?

How late do the live axles continue, what is the latest model? Are there VT-VZ models?

What about Crewman? What diff is it? is it still a Borg Warner? What hp will it handle with upgraded axles?

If it is old or rare - Cut it! http://www.ehlimo.com.au/

VZ Crewman and 1-tonner had live axles. My VZ Cross 8 has a 3.45 open centre but the SS and S packs would have LDSs. Autos are normally 3.07?, manuals 3.45.
I imagine a standard one would take 400hp easily, but that would depend upon tyres and applicatio

The live axles are quite cheap too, but they have a history of being noisy - ask a Holden mechanic. Something to do with incorrect diff fluid. You somethimes see them on Ebay for a few hundred bucks.

the std VN diff is quite good.
as bryon said, 400 - 450 hp is probably about the mark.

get the tailshaft when you get the diff, you will need the flange.

the sun gears are a 4 pin centre, not the old skool 2 pin, and you can still buy the LSD centr
Old holdens brought on the spot, quick decision, cash paid.
