Im about (next few months) to begin the HQ's rebuild. So I'm after tips from those who have done a body-off -subframe resto on a HQ-WB
The plan is.......
1) front clip off, dismanted and off to sandblasters (only for the usual rust spots) I'll sand/strip the rest.
2) engine& box out
3) While a rolling shell, all trim, removable trim, panels.fuel tank..... etc come off.
4) Drop subframe...if mounts, floor are OK, paint the imediate area.
paint firewall.
5) repainted, new suspension, mounts, etc subframe is reunited with body, new rear suspension.
6) At this point I'd like to refit the engine/trans, brakes.
7) To the panel beaters. They do rust, paint, all panel alignment, etc.
8) Headlining and glass.
9) Interior, dash, fuel tank.

Thanx in advance for all replies.

Do a close inspection of the rails for cracks around the lower control arm welds and the upper control arm welds. Maybe fit some WB chassis strengthening bars while the subframe is off (llok under a WB and youll see them). It might have rust on the rails

If we all had the same (good) taste, who would buy all the Fords?
