On the ABC news tonight, it was announced that Peter Wherrett has died at the age of 72 from cancer.
I used to enjoy his motoring program, Torque, on Channel 2 in the 1970s.
May his soul go to the motoring heaven.

Yes I watched it also, then I watched a documentary on him where he talked about cross dressing, a bad father with the same problem and a brother thats homosexual. After that effort he never really appeared in the media again, I guess he was dropped like

Peters reputation also went down after a drink driving charge that hit the news years ago.
Fame can be taken as fast as its given. I used to watch his show when i was kid and thought it was okay and then it was all over.
