Hey all. i am trying to get my head around all this leaded/unleaded crap. so a red/blue Holden 6 runs on leaded petrol. and now to combat that you have to run on unleaded with a lube right?

yella terra dont make heads for a red 202 anymore. did those heads enable you to run the engine on straight unleaded?

cheers

None of the Holden 6s (Red, Blue or Black) were designed for unleaded.

To safely run unleaded, you need to fit hardened valve seats, or continue to use an upper cylinder lubricant in the fuel, or delivered into the manifold like a flashlube system.

Cheers,

Mick

As was stated, you need additives if you retain original seats. The motor would run fine, but i think the leaded petrol was less corrosive, and so original valve seats, over a long period of time, will degrade faster.

If that is the case, i wonder abou
