now that I have all the dash out is it easier to access heater radiator from under dash....heater stopped working and presume it must be blocked....?

yes, from under dash, but you must remove fan housing cover from engine bay first, there is 4 screws around the fan,3 screw around the opposite side, near the centre of the firewall, and then 2 nuts (that attach to studs that are fixed to the heater box)
