Ford F 100 motors. in 1974 being the 1st with the aussie 250 ci 6 cyl & v8 302.
Does any one know why the 250 6 cyl has only 120 HP in the F100 and 155 HP in the XB falcon. and the 302 v8 F100 has only 136 HP at 3600 RPM. when the XB 302 has 240 HP at 4800 RPM.
Back in the 70's i always thought the 302 F100 was gutless and the 250 did well for what it was.
A mate had a 302 F100, and when we pulled the 2 barrel Stromberg off we seen the manifold had tapered holes like a funnel where the carby sits? maybe it must be how they tried to restricted it's power?
Or maybe they used a different camshaft to the falcon?
How ford could rate it's 302 v8 XB falcon at 240 HP when they only came with 2 barrel carby when no XA or XB 302 came with a 4 barrel and all 351 came with 2 barrel's also. only GT got 4 barrel carby.
