Hi all. Is this unit diferent to the normal air con units you find in the HQ through to WBs? is it after market or a different factory type? The unit is an aftermarket one, this can be seen from the compresor and mounting bracket, condensor are 100% not Holden.
These type normally mouted under the dash.

Thanks warren. So in my sandman where I had the type that took up half the back of the glovebox, was that just a standard factory setup? Just as it seems a bit odd that they did something like that from the factory?

Yes hainzy, as Warren said, this unit is an aftermarket item & was very common in the 70s. It looks like an AMC brand unit. The a/cond unit you describe, where you lose the back half of the glovebox is a dealer-fitted GM P & A accessory unit. These wer Edited by user Thursday, 23 April 2009 11:14:20 PM(UTC)

Thanks Dr terry. That makes a bit more sense then. Are the GM P & A accessory units hard to come by and worth putting back in or are you better to just get a Frigidaire/Harrison jobby? Cheers.
