Gday everyone

After a year or so after purchasing my HQ Monaro i have it finally registered and on the road to enjoy. The cars been sitting around not doing much since it was last registered back in 99. Everything seems to be running ok. I took it for a drive on the weekend for a good 1/2 hour and by the time i got home the car was showing on almost red on the heat. Does this have to do with the little amount of driving its done in the past say 10 years.Maybe just a few cobb webbs.

As you havent seemed to have driven it too much you might want to try a sticky thermostat to start with.

another thing to check is the condition of the lower radiator hose...it should have a metal coil in it to stop the hose getting sucked flat...the coil rusts and goes thru the pump and can block your radiator..and the hose can then collapse causing the heat to rise.

i have taken it out twice since registered and have noticed when i got home a decent puddle of water that comes out of a hose connected at the top of the radiator and runs along the side of the radiator. Is this right. So does this mean everytime id stop at the lights id be losing water out of the radiator.
