Wow, over $1000 for four bare rims. I thought I was paying too much at $70 per rim. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/w...WAX:IT&item=270391130714

Im about to repaint not powdercoat about 22 of these rims next week, will let you know what it actually cost in time and materials. I have already blasted and undercoated and have them ready to mask and top coat. Remember the holes flog out and may need rewelding and drilling and then they may need re rolling. It will be interesting to see the actual result in cost

People are asking crazy prices for the rims, but whether buyers are prepared to pay is a different thing. I went to the ballarat swap and there were plenty of sets for sale for between $400 unrestored to $800 restored. By the end of Sunday, i didnt see any sets sold. There are way more sets available that there are cars to put them on! Most people who have GTS monaros already have them on the car or have a spare set or 2. If you want the GTS look, in my opinion you are way better off with 15" Pontiac Ralley 2 wheels, plenty of importers bringing them in or buy brand new 15" wheels from Wheel Vintiques. -I currently have 14" GTS wheels on my Monaro, but will upgrade to 15" shortly as the 14x6" has limited options as far as tyres are concerned.

i have run out now but a couple of years ago i had around 25 sets of rims...i have found that regardless of stupid prices seen on ebay i was consistently getting between $50 to $125 per rim...condition dependant...more than that were no sales and ive gotta eat and pay the tax office etc.. going to church makes you no more a christian than standing in a garage makes you a car... www.classicozwreck.com.au |
