Hi all. This is a bit of a nuff nuff question, but i need to get a trimatic for my 253 HZ. So when im searching, do i just assume that most trimatics are the same, or is there some i need to be aware of that wont fit. eg from a 6 cylinder vc etc...?? Cheers.

firtly 6 and 8 are different
secondly the shifter linkages are on the right on the earlier gearboxes (colomb)and the left on the later ones (t-bar)
otherwise there the same i put one out of a vk in my hq, only fitted cause my hq went to a t-bar
