This was posted earlier this year when the panels came out.It was from South Australia-Peter. I have just fitted my first replacement panel on the Monaro from Rare Spares in Adelaide. And this may shock you trend setters it fitted first go. No cutting to fit it just went on and was welded in place. Rare Spares you rock. I will be fitting the rest of the Rare Spares panels I have already purchased and even if they dont go on as good as this one I wont complain, just fix it and move on. This world has become a place of complainers and whingers. We should all be glad that Rare Spares make these panels as Im pretty sure if I had to make them they wouldnt fit. Cheers Peter

Unsubstantiated testimonials are always a little suss, especially when they express the opinion that its ok for other products from the same company to be crap, and labelling anyone who complains a whinger.

Lets not forget that these cars were not 100% when they were first assembled. If you have a Rare Spares panel that is only 90-95% correct then if you know what you are doing you will make the other 5-10% work. What else are you going to do, start with a flat sheet and make the thing yourself. Give it some grace and it will work out fine.

I make car panels as a trade. I can make new EH front guards, in aluminium if I wanted. Its easy, just takes time. I buy all Rare Spares panels, as it is quicker than starting with a flat sheet. I give feedback on the fitment in a constructive way. http://www.ehlimo.com.au/ |

Fitting Rare Spares panels is a lot easier than making them from scratch. I often wonder if the people who complain about the panels they purchase blame the panel rather than the fitter. Most of the older cars have been hit at some stage. Even from new they were out of alignment. Why did they have adjustable doors, bonnets and boot lids? Think about it!

Well said 81837s. Using something that at least resembles the shape is way ahead of a flat piece of steel. Modification is usually easier than fabrication.
