I cant see much value in trying to go after $4000 (or is it $8000 total?). Either way, it's still a relatively cheap lesson and you can bet it will never happen to your brother in law again.

My brother In-law is not going to persue the matter, i showed him these new posts and he has learnt his lesson i hope. But this guy was a dog(RIP) he knew my brother inlaw was no good with mechanics and just coned him he was a prick!!Is he in heaven or hell? what goes around comes around and i guess a life of stealing ended his short.
Havent you learnt anything from that guy that gives sermons at church?...Captain whats his name.

it's definitely not nothing. it might not be $30,000 or a house, but to the people involved (me especially it was every cent i was earning at the time) and it's a lot more than nothing. i still will not get my engine nor my cash back.
i find it hard to believe you call him a close family friend?? surely being that close you would've been aware of what he was upto??

my old man and i have had a chuckle at this entire thread as we have both come to blows with him in the past.

karma is a mother f***er

i think you're miss judging what i was saying here.
my question is, surely if you were aware of the acts going on in vic then you would have known to protect yourself from his deviance? in your case, i'd rather be screwed by a complete stranger than somebody i consider a friend, i'll say that much.
hell, we all have one thing in common, it's that we've lost money to this man. i'm not here to compare who's lost more, a loss is a loss.

agree but there is a long story attached the "Family Friend" business....
u dont need to hear my dramas but I let u know Im sorry for ur loss and I had no idea what was going on up there, I was told the money was for his kemo, radiation and operations and was given through a family memeber to him. Im sorry I was sucked in but ive learnt not to trust anyone. take care
