I have a 308 with Eng No 308H2*** and I know that means it was out of a HT HG.....but to be 100% sure can anyone tell me what the build date code means "K130" Thanks

K130 is 12/10/1970. it is a HG. 308H 2xxxx

308H2xxx would most likely be out of early HT Brougham as 308 was only available in Brougham in HT from Ht release until late 1969. Unless you mean 308H2xxxx which would be closer to 10/70.

I think something is amiss. Remember 253/308 HT/HG numbers started in HT Brougham right at the start of HT production at 308H1001. I might be wrong but there should be heaps more than 1 to 2 thousand 253/308 built before late October 1970, basically if yours is 308H2992 that is less than 2000 engines after 308H1001. It might be right, but just seems a bit too low. If Ben Stewart sees this post hell confirm either way.

I have a 253 with engine number 253H22**6 so it has 5 numbers after the H.

That would be 21000 engines into HT/HG Holden V8 production. H2xxx is between 1000 and 2000 engines into the same series.

So a date code like "M101" with an engine number QT105681 would be............?

10/12/71 out of any HQ, most likely a GTS or Premier but could be from anything from Belmont up except Statesman and tonner.
