i was looking at a hq p/van chassis today, and the chassis number wasnt in the place where i'd normally expect to find it

it was back about 50-60mm, were all the hq chassis numbers stamped in the EXACT same place? or did the location vary a little bit?

OR has this number been re-stamped?

Gday Dave,
The chassis # should be in the same place on all HQ-WB chassis. That oval slot on the side of the rail is for the number stamping machine to locate in.
Have a close look at that p/van chassis, might be restamped.

Yeah I was going to say a possible restamp but might not be.

All mine on the van, ute and sedans are in the same place.

Ive looked at a lot of these on Monaros and can agree that they should all be in the same place by way of the manner in which they are stamped at the factory. It would pay you to run this chassis number by REVS as you dont want to get caught out.
