Hi guys,
I've been putting some thought into selling my South African export 1972 XY Fairmont GT of late to fund another project...
she's all matching numbers, with both tags and shock tower number intact and matching, original 4V 351 engine, 9-inch etc... she's a no options car (ie no power steer or air con)
my Ford club has confirmed it's an original GT body and I've also had numbers details confirmed by Ford RSA and can provide the document...
the car is originally Pearl Grey (now painted red, but you can see the grey in a couple of spots, inside the boot etc, cool colour)...
GT has factory toploader 4-speed manual, with red interior (needs door/seat trims, the ones in the car have been reupholstered in an "interesting" manner, see pics). Steering wheel needs some work to, the rimblow horn has long deteriorated... dash needs some work, but isn't too bad....
Car is in Darwin, NT regod and on the road (although she's on club rego which is non-transferable, so will have to switch over to regular rego). I'll help with shipping etc, it's not that expensive getting stuff OUT of Darwin, unlike getting it in!)
She's got no rust to speak of (I assume it was an inland car), vinyl roof is in good nick... Pretty much all of the trim, badging and
mouldings are there and in good condition.... starts first time, doesn't blow smoke, goes pretty hard really although I drive like a bit of a granddad :)... I haven't had any problems with her... I bought her already imported maybe 16 months ago...?
I'm looking for $45,000 for her, but happy to listen to sensible offers... she owes me more than that, and I'm not desperate to let her go, so if I don't get what I want I'll hold on to her and restore her in a couple of years time... it would be sad to see her go, but I have my sights set on another grand plan :)
You can see some pics here:
http://gallery.oldholden.com/curbstone/fairmontgt/I have more pics available and can take shots of specific areas... If you are interested and want more details/pics, drop me an email on
[email protected] and I'll ether give you my number or give you a call to discuss etc...
These cars are genuine GTs, not replicas, and you can find out all you need to know about them here (the forum is great):
