hi to all, can someone help with carby info on 8/74 xb gt. my car is fitted with a factoy looking choke cable but cant workout if it come like this from factoy or someone has put it in over the years. my information tells me that it should have a motorcraft 4300, but from what i have been able to find out all 4300 were auto choke, is this correct.

mate i'll put my 2 cents in,
I know nothing about xb's but im pretty sure your right, the correct carb for the car should be the motocraft 4300 unit that you have stated.
in regards to the choke, my gt is still running the autolite 4300 carb (xy) it

could it be possible that some xb's come out with holleys or do you think they were all 4300. Anybody else?

mate I would call GT Ford Performance on 03 9351 0351 these guys have been great with me for when I have had some left field questions.
or..
Grand Tourer 03 9357 7757 also just as good.

Pretty sure none of the XBs had the choke in the GT. All the 6 cyl XBs had the manual choke. Some of the cars were modded at the dealers, like the Horn cars where they did put Holleys, extractors, spoilers, mag wheels and stripes etc on them. Pretty mu

previous owner says the choke was there when he purchased the car in 1981 alond with the 600 holley with a list number of 1850-2

The car was 6-7 years old when he got it and Holley swaps were very common with the Clevelands. The mentality back then was that if it wasn't a Holley it wasn't as good. Not really correct but that was the attitude. Ford never fitted 600 holleys to any

Have another issue if you can help Paul? a/c clutch valve which attaches somewhere near or on the heater tap, are you familiar with this? Can you or someone else post some pics how the valve attaches and where.
