G'day guys

I have an XD Falcon sedan that was passed onto me from my dad, who got it off his dad, who bought it new.

Its in original condition and been off the road for the last 8 years, due to a worn transmission plate gasket and a broken handbrake cable, which I fixed recently and to which my old was pretty impressed to see the old girl moving on her own steam again.

I have very fond memories traveling in the car with my dad and I want to know as much about this vehicle as I can, along with its value. I have some pictures in this link - http://picasaweb.google....nuKMkwE&feat=directlink.

The cars details and what I've researched already:

Prefix body: JG32XE

J= Australia
G= broadmeadows (build plant)
32= Fairmont GXL (plus) ghia sedan
XE= 1980 August manufacture date

Serial no. 71355 C (part of the vin on chassis
Sido no. 4170
Model 18938
Engine: W = 4.1 alloy head high compression to 1/81
Trans: B = 3 speed cruisomatic
RR Ax -
Ft Ax -
Trim: R = Palomino velour (ghia)
Paint 2 or Z
BRK -
GVM KG -
CCM -

Build date: 08-80

Also the ADR codes:
1, 2, 3a, 4c, 5b, 6, 7, 8, 10b, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22a, 23, 24, 25a, 27a, 28, 29, 31, 34

Can anyone tell from the ADR codes whether it came with air-conditioning or power-steering?

CC/ID 250
Bore 3.68
Stroke 3.91
Power 94kw@4000
Torque 305Nm@2000
Comp 9.35

A couple of questions also - Is my ford Burnt orange, sahara tan, desert gold or inca yellow? and What is the european sports back and what does it look like on a XD, anyone got pictures?

The is running, just needs a new battery.

Cheers

Jesse

It sounds like you have a Fairmont Ghia ESP.

They were basically the 80's equivalent of the Falcon GT.

Above the Ghia they had sports suspension a body coloured grille 15X7 Globe Bathurst wheels and red illumination for the instruments and cons

Looks like a Fairmont Ghia, but not an ESP. Still a nice car to do up. You're refrering to the European Sports Pack. ( ESP ). As Jim said, Scheel seats, globe wheels, driving lights etc.

Here's some pics of a ESP. 351 not a cross flow but shows

I didn't realise that the XD ESP had the Scheel seats too but that one does and the red clock is very obvious too.

I failed to look at your photos which do show a non ESP Ghia.

Always something new to learn Jim. I learn something new at least once a week cruising the car forums. Ford first used them in the Bathurst Cobras and then on the XD and XE ESPs.
