HK-WB will do the same job. HQ-WB tonners are stronger too (heat treated) - same as what was used on L34 and A9X.

i got a few, im in melb, would rather see you go the LH-X or UC Torana front end rather than the HR Type, worth the extra effort for you EH.

HQ-WB stub axles fit straight onto a HR front end. Compared to HR, will actually lower the car by approx. 20mm as the axle sits higher on the stub axle. Fit late model brakes on early Holden. Easy peasy. Drill rotor & fit studs to suit early Holden pattern too. Bingo bango, early pattern wheels, must be 14" or over though. Happy days. you can buy conversion kits for drum brake stub axles that allow you to run late model brake . i am running vn clubby brake on the front of my van useing hq stubs and it would of been easier to buy the kit i think

Its not all that easy to drill factory HQ-WB rotors to 4.25" PCD as the stud heads end up halfway into the casting in the back of the rotor. Not sure if aftermarket ones are easier or dont have this problem. _______________________________________________________ If we all had the same (good) taste, who would buy all the Fords? |

Yep, room in the inner section of the hub does need to be milled out for clearance of the new stud. Any decent engineering shop can carry out this work. New blank rotors are available allowing for any pattern to be utilized. Personally, I would not use a conversion on drum stubs given the availability & ease of fit with the HQ-WB stubs. Big brake kits are also readily available for these type of stubs. Utility8 |

its getting hq stud pattern and likely a 15" rim so the wheel choice is better, parts are reasonably easy to come by, tyres are cheap and easy etc.
I dont "think" it will need the bigger brakes as offered by hoppers etc due to the much lighter EH vs a hq but thats not to say it wont happen down the track.
At the moment im trying not to spend money so its factory bolt on stuff all the way lol.

HQ look to be the option, easily found & cost effective. Caliper pistons & kits are cheap. Rotors are cheap. They will work well. Utility8 |
