Ive known my motor was badly rich so i sourced some new jets and gave them to a dyno tuner with instructions to fit, see the difference, and adjust/modify power valves to help.
They seemed to spend a long time working on it, charged me bucketloads, for SFA result. Went from no58 mains to no56 in my worked 202 with X2 setup. Best reading went from a tad over 12/1, to about 12.6/1. Still horrible.
Without buying every jet and testing them all, anyone guestimate me what sizes would be good? I can provide full motor specs if needed. |

that sort of thing is by trial and error, your better of buying a wideband oxygen sensor (a/f) meter and doing it your self, that way you will learn mor about it as well for next time. most tune shops can only do new electronic stuff e,.g plug and play remapping or holley,s as jets and power valve, springs are easlly avaiable, you can make your life easy and get a holley? pete.

Haha, nah mate, love this twin Stromberg setup, despite its drama.
My WOT mixture is ok it seems, a good ratio for safe horsepower, but its the leanest point in my ratio through the revs. So at cruising im WAY rich. If i could use adjustable mains it would be great, but with the throttle linkage between the carbs it means you cant have the adjustable main protruding from the body. *sigh*
Ive thought about throwing some money at my own a/f meter. After an experience like this its probably a cheaper and better option.
Cheers. |

well if it,s way to rich at cruise you need tocheck the power valve is closed at cruise if so smaller main jets and enlarge the power valve, i still think your better off buying a a/f meter and doing it your self. afew hours on a dyno with some one that does not know what there doing with a carb could pay for it and give you invaluable experiance, you have seen first hand the damage that can be done. microtech looks like a good system. pete
