Hi Guys,
Have just picked up a 308 motor with an engine number starting with VT and ending in 85.
Can some one tell me a year or model range it came from?
Cheers, Allan

VB - mid VK. Without seeing the number it could have been from any of these, red, blue or black motor.

The magic number is VT451785.
The donk is painted black but it is flaking quite a lot so I am not sure if it was the original colour.
It is unusual that it has a two barrel manifold??? Is this from something else or did the 308 come out with a 2 barrell carby at some stage?
Its another one of those lucky finds by the look of it. The internals of the motor look as new or re-conditioned in fact I dont think it has been fired up since being rebuilt.
Picked it up for $200 this afternoon.
Cheers, Allan

A long shot, but could it be the 308 as fitted to some Bedford trucks? Didnt the 308 in that application have a 2bbl carby?

About 6/84 so VK Commodore. Will originally have been a 4BBL.
I saw a photo of a Bedford 308 the other day and it had a 4BBL manifold with an adapter to fit the Rochester 2-jet with a governer attached to the adapter.
