Gday, my question is related to the humped fuel tanks in the hktg model line up.
I always beleived that for a car to have a humped fuel tank it had to be factory ordered with a 10 bolt diff?

But over the past year i have been seeing a couple of monaros and broughams especially with factory banjo LSDs

My question is, why did some cars get factory humps with no ten bolts? did holden just send out what stock body they had at the time? in relation to broughams i thought it may have been just a standard shell design for all but it seems as though there are other brougham bodys without the hump. (talking about hk broughams)

I just sold one, factory 307/glide, humped tank with lsd
and just bought another factory 307/glide with lsd but no hump?

Any ideas?

Also it seems as though you could order most engine / trans combos in any model, i know a person hear with a factory 308 / saginaw and ten bolt ute? so could you order a factory 350 for your car or was it an express 81837 ONLY item?

Thanks

All Broughams should be banjo. Im not aware of any ever having 10 bolts. They should all be LSD 2.78 or 3.08 in HK, not sure if if you could get non-LSD in later Brougham.
In GTS all 307/308 should have a 10 bolt except for some early auto HK which had LSD 2.78. Monaro will have 10 bolt with 307/308 manual but banjo with auto unless ordered as a 10 bolt.
Humps should only be there for 10 or 12 bolt fitted cars, but export examples were all the same shell so even autos got Saginaw humps etc.
308 Saginaw and 10-bolt would be an option for late HT and HG ute, you could also order 307 4spd HK ute but 307 was auto only in HT. Officially you could only get 327 and 350 in 1837 but engines did make it into other shapes and luxury levels, just like in HQ - but they were few and far between.

Does the Brougham have a Salisbury hump? Ive never seen one in a Brougham. AFAIK you could only get a banjo in a Brougham. Salisbury is common behind 308 powerglide in all other HT/HG.

HK Brougham? So it had a Salisbury hump with an LSD banjo? Hmm. Maybe a factory stuff up (putting the hump in that is)?
