there is a 179 motor at the balcatta rubbish tip in Perth. Looks pretty complete, has alternator and carby, and engine number starts with D so suppose it could be a HD.
Probably get it for 20 or 30 bucks.

how many miles has it done? is there a warranty? does it have any performance modifications? what cam is in it? was it an auto or manual? has it been bored or had the crank ground? is there any bore ridge? does it blow smoke or use oil?

far as I know it has a flexirubber brabjones cam that changes lift as the revs increase, has just enough lip to get away with smart alec remarks, is warranted to be painted red, distance from tip gat to engine is about 50 metres so warranty has expired.
I dont need it myself so not bothered about absolute id, just putting it in here for maybe someone else can use, and it would be a shame to see an old motor go to China. but it did appear to just be a D.
