Does anyone know how to adjust the position that the wipers park on the windscreen? I have an LJ 2dr with a Lucas two speed wiper motor and the wipers park at the highest point that they reach on the windscreen. Is this adjustment located on the dash switch or at the motor? Just wanting to know as i have to remove the heater box to take the wiper motor out.

id say your motor or switch is stuffed like mine, as soon as i turn mine off they just die....no return so i just kill em when there at the base of the screen.

Yeh thats what i used to do. They never used to park at all so i would just turn them off when they reached the bottom of the screen but for some reason now when i turn them off at the switch they stay on until they reach the top of the screen where they park. So i have to drive around with them parked in that position which doesnt look to great.

If they park at the highest point I would suggest that the wiper motor does not need touching but the arm coming off the motor needs to be removed and turned 180 degrees then put back on. It would generally only go on two ways due to the flats on the shaft and yours would be on the wrong one of those two ways.
Have you replaced the wiper motor recently?

As was stated above. If i remember when peering inside my HQs wiper motor (actually an HJ motor now i think of it) the docking is achieved by a gap in a circular contact, so it basically either works or doesnt. Therefore your problem sounds mechanical, like the linkages as mentioned. Park the wipers high as they do now, remove the cowl, undo the one nut holding the arm to the motor and see if you can orientate the arm so it fits again with the wipers down. |

I have a similar problem with HZ motor, except it actually parks about 1/3 up the screen. Was good until encountered a quite stiff headwind (100 gusting 130). Wipers worked ok for a bit, then wind held them at full height a second of two. Switched to double speed and got them moving again, but now "return" to wrong spot.
