Looking at a replacement carb for a rochester q-jet for a 308. Its been recommended to use a Holley 450 square bore model 4360. Been told its a double pumper which will work well with my manual hz sedan with a 3.55 diff. The motor is mild, looking for a bit more go. Will this carb be alright?
Thanks, Ado

Stick with the Q-Jet, much better than any Holley.
Just get it tuned by someone who knows them.

not sure what model 4360 is, but i had a 450 holley, annular discharge model on a HJ statesman, 308, T400, 2.78. it wasnt a double pumper either. very economical, but grossly underperformed.

If you have to go holley, I would go a 650/750 dp but jet it as small as you can,but as Dr Terry say rochys a better carby when tuned properly i think they flow at 675cfm..jim Jim in adelaide Edited by user Saturday, 1 August 2009 7:17:36 AM(UTC)

stick with the rotty, I had 650dp on a 308 never ran nice , felt like it was drowning, put a good rotty on it and it went like a cut snake.

Looks like the rochester is the go! Had a Carter thermoquad on my Kingswood once upon a time. That went well and was very tuneable.Could be time for a Quadrajet.
Thanks, Ado.
