Does a T5 5 speed from an EL XR8 fit into an XY? If so what mods are needed and can you run an original style console? Any information would be appreciated including opinion on whether its worthwhile against a toploader. Cheers. Edited by user 15 years ago

Hi,
I have jsut finished this conversion myself.
I got a kit from CRS and it was pretty much bolt in.
Only problem is if its a warm 351 you gotta be careful with the T5.
I prefered this over a toploader coz its 5 speed
