Gday all,
I was just cleaning out some of my old email stuff and found this and couldnt resist posting it.
I hope all who read it enjoy!
Do you see me, Toecutter?
Do you see me, man?
Born with a steering wheel in his hand...and lead in his foot.
He is the Nightrider...... cruising at the speed of fright!
I am the Nightrider,
and we ain't never coming back!
I'm a fuel-injected suicide machine!
I am a rocker! I am a roller!
I am the Nightrider!
I am ready.
I am ready for your best.
You should see the damage, Bronze!
Metal damage...
... brain damage!
You listening, Bronze?
I am the Nightrider!
I'm a fuel-injected suicide machine.
I am a rocker! I am a roller!
I am an out-of-controller!
I am the Nightrider, baby...
... and it's me and my Marmaduke,
The Toecutter, he knows who I am.
I am the Nightrider!
I am the chosen one,
the mighty hand of vengeance...
... sent down to strike the unroadworthy!
I'm hotter than a rolling dice.
Step right up, chum, and watch the kid... ...lay down a rubber road right to freedom!

Iam a fuel injected suicide machine!

Been wanting to build a replica Nightrider coupe for ages, seen plenty of interceptors and pursuit replicas but never heard of the Nightrider car being done.
What a movie!

That van was not a Sandman, just a custom jobbie as we did them then.

to do a night rider coupe. you to get a 1 owner coupe and bash it and drive it up along sand stone over pass wall to get the wrecked look. wasnt most of the nightrider poem from the AC/DC song called Rocker.

Ive had the same thought Andy. I was sitting in the garage looking at my coupe the other day and thought - If I slap on a coat of flat black and front and rear spoilers Ill save a hell of a lot of time on panelwork, get to drive it sooner, and still have a car that is technically "finished".

Now that I look through a couple of pics of the nightriders monaro I also noticed that it sports chrome Sunraysia style wheels, which are the wheels currently on the HZ GTS. Hmmmmmm......

Dont believe everything you see on the net. There are a lot of people who see a holden panel van , and its a Sandman. Have a good look at the van in Perrys blog and check it out in the movie, it is not a Sandman, just a customised Kingswood.

Cheers,
Pete.

they all use to claim the nightrider monaro was a LS monaro, when in fact it was a basic monaro that was a 6 or 253, basic trim single head lights and black dash with the monaro badge covered with tape.
all so they calm the van came from the factoy with a twin headlight front,

What about somebody bringing such a car to the next Monaro Nationals? If any of the organisers are looking at this then maybe a section for special movie Monaros or any other oddities could make for some interesting display cars.

What a movie!

I am glad everyone enjoyed my post of the Nightriders Poem. The night before I did the post I had just watched Mad Max 3(I know not as good as the first but still an icon)on VHS! Remember VHS? When you got to watch all of your 80cm screen and not that poxy squint screen effect(wide screen) TV, assisted by Doctor Bourbon and Nurse Dry (Gingerale) I also love the "Lord Humungus" scene from Mad Max 2 and it gets a work out every now and then at parties with the assistance of Doc Bourbon and Nurse Dry!
I love all the cars/vehicles from all 3 movies. If you want something different as a project what about the "rig that could haul that tanker" from Mad Max 2? It was a Mack. Definately different.
I remember seeing all 3 Mad Max movies in a row at South Bank, Brisbane on a big screen (10 to 20 feet big)one night with some mates and annoying them by reciting most of the words as the movies showed! Bloody good time! Bugger the fast and delirious crap get the kids to watch Mad Max, Running on Empty, Metal Skin, Maximum Overdrive, original Gone in Sixty seconds and the original Death Race with Sylvester Stallone and David Carridine! Oh Yeah!

The Hq in question was a basic, 173ci 3 speed auto column shift. the sound was taken from a 318 valiant ute as was the shot of the floor as the nightrider hits the brakes. look closeley...not holden pedals at all. also the clutch pedal isn't engaged as the brake pedal is hit. the foot belongs to mad max mechanic murry smith as does the val ute. murry did several stunts throught out the film blah blah blah....don't get me started on mad max.
