hi guys It's time to adjust the tappets (well, valve clearance) on my Sundowner 2 litre (all stock), and the clearance s are listed as .20mm for the inlet and .25mm for the exhaust when the engine is hot. However, its much easier doing it cold, so the question is, how much should I add to these clearances? cheers franklin

On my clevo with alloy heads, cold lash is about 5 thou tighter than the hot setting. regards,

That's a relatively hard one as the 2 litre has no pushrods to expand with heat (which is where the bulk of the hot/cold difference will happen). Best bet would be to just check the clearances hot and cold, see what the difference actually is then do them |

thanks guys ... good point about the pushrods Jim, hadn't thought of that! ah, the ol' slant six ... I remember taking a VF 160HP for a fang inthe old days, wild! cheers franklin
