Have you consulted with your local road authorities? you may struggle to get a red motor registered in a vk.

Any VB to VL 253 or 308 sump. VB to VL Commodores are basically the same car. The VB was available with a red 308 and TH400 so all of the bits including tailshaft, gearbox crossmember and speedo cable were produced by Holden.

even the VN-VS and im pretty sure the VT sump will fit as well into the VK, ive had a VN sump in a VK before, VN onwards sumps have the crank scraper standard.

If you want to put in a V8 into your VK. Do yourself a favour and buy a factory VK V8 that wrecking. i have seen one in the trading post for $500. You will the cross member.from memory the 6 and 8 are different.you will need the bigger springs. All of the

as Jamie has sujested is a good idea, that way you will also get all the small bits ane pieces you will need for the conversion, The TH 350 trans will be the easyer way to go as it is the same lenght as the trimatic

I have just put a red 308 with turbo 400 into my VH. You will need, a commodore sump with the pickup on the front. Crossmember is the same, however the transmission mount is different, you will need the 400 one, you can order these new from holden for

The only problem with this is that you can't legally remove the emmissions equipment. It is all external anyway until you get into approx. 1983 where internal mods were made to lower emissions. I don't think the red heads port any better, but you can fit |
