Hi there
Has anyone been able to find inertia reel seatbelts that may look OK in a HG Prem.
Interior is antique gold, so that colour webbing would be good.
Ive seen the black ones from accessory shops, and I like the added safety, but hate the look.
Any clues?

Is there any reason you want to go inertia? As the standard ones, once they are rewebbed ar just fine and still legal. Do you intend on putting them in the back? As they were never fitted with rear belts until 71

I was thinking inertia reel for the kids mainly and changing them whenever kid to adult changes front seat.
Also, I had this thing about them being safer???
I am definitely putting them in the back as well.
Who does rewebbing and would they still have antique gold??
Didnt actually look if the car had 5 seatbelts or 2......
Been a long time since Ive had cars this old - looking forward to it!!!!
Bring it on.

It depends on ehre your are located in this big brown land of ours, but there is http://www.monaromusclep...s.com/newsarticle-18.php I dare say that you will have factory mounting holes in the floorpan of the car but may need to do the upper ones on the parcel shelf. FYI I had inertia seatbelts in the back of my HG Monaro and took them out and rewebbed the front as they were nearly 40 years old. Carpe Diem |

Got a sneaky feeling that HT & HGs have the anchor nuts under the parcel shelf. I dunno about inertia reel belts being safer, I think it is the lack of patience in adjusting the manual belts that is the problem. Ive stuck with the original belts, took them out and scrubbed them up in really hot soapy water, rinsed em off and now they are easy as to adjust.

Thanks
Great advice.
Might try that.
Inertias convenient for adults then kids jumping in & out the front seats.
But then if I cant get them in antique gold (which I dont think I can) Ill just have to teach the kids to adjust them properly.

This is what I did, I also hung mine over the fence in the sun to dry. You will be amazed at how good they come up. http://www.automedia.com...eatbelts/res20001101sr/1

jpb308, Thats correct i have none in the back. As an asside I did over hear the judges at the last Nationals marking down cars with retro fitted belts in both the front and the back. but if safety is you main concern they I would do it.

I make my kids get in an out of the car as a slow pace. Carpe Diem |

Thanks for that
Yeah, this ones definitely no show car, just a good weekend cruiser with the kids etc. so safetys no 1.
Dont worry about the kids - they only o things slowly :)
Need to really check out whats in the boot and see what to do next.
If theres all 5 in good condition and the fixing points are there, then maybe its a good scrub and bolt them back in.
Otherwise, well just have to see.
Cheers and thanks for all your help.
