Hi there
Just got a HG and theres about 6 inches slop either side of straight ahead before the wheels start to turn.
Is there that much adjustment in the box or would it just be stuffed?
IS it simple to adjust - weekend hack with spanners here - or would I need to take it to a shop?
If it's OK to do at home, can anyone give me some brief instructions?
PS - if it's stuffed, how much to reco and where???
Cheers

See the last two manuals on this page (click on the pics). http://gallery.oldholden...usty+Dirt+Roads/Library/Ive uploaded HG steering specs also info on adjusting the steering box of a HR. Should be more or less the same but if you need more, feel free to ask, i can upload the relevent adjustment pages from the HG manual for you. For getting your steering box rebuilt, I intend using SRA very soon. STEERING REBUILDS AUSTRALIA P/L - 7 DISNEY AVE - KEILOR EAST - VIC 3033 - PH (03) 9004 1382 MON-FRI 8AM-5PM. [email protected] |

I just installed a recon box from The Steering King in Toongabbie, NSW, in my HQ. Drives beautifully and sold on exchange is a good price. They organise freight as well. Also proved very helpful when i called them up. |
