There is no big or bigger master cylinder fitted to these models. They all have the same 1-inch diameter bore size.

The one picture is the common aftermarket PBR alloy type & is probably the most common out there. The factory original type has a cast iron body & a big nut fitted to its front face. This is purely for identification of the factory original type for the concours purists.

There is no performance difference.

As far as I know there were 2 boosters ie, Power assisted drum brake and Power assisted disc brake, with the master cylinders being the same, yours is the standard field replacement. A single diaphram booster for power drums and a double diaphram booster for power discs, the drum booster is about half as thick as the disc one. The one in the picture is a disc brake booster.

Shows what can occur if you dont read the question properly.

I was talking brake master cylinders, while Jeremy was asking about brake boosters. Silly me !!

As 80569K has correctly pointed out, there are 2 different size boosters, the larger (dual diaphragm) type which was factory standard for all disc braked cars & the slimmer (single diaphragm) type which was optional for those with 4 wheel drum brakes.

The one in the photo is the correct one for disc brakes.
