Laurence,
Try running an ammeter across each of the fuse terminals (with the fuses out 1 at a time) and see if any of the circuits are excessively high. If any are using more than about 30mA then there is an issue. Make sure you have the drivers door interior light switch held in while doing it and all lights off. Have you checked that the glovebox, console, and boot lights arent staying on? Is there any particular feature in the car that isnt working correctly?

Rhys

My brother has the same issue with these POSs. He has spent many many hours trying to chase down the problem. It turns out it was something in the security system. Can not remember exactly what it was. Could also have been the Holden Assit bullsh!t. Anyways Holden jerked him around long enough to get the thing out of warranty, now they want to help by changing all sorts of stuff. Something they never wanted to do while it was under warranty.

Anyways, all he does now, is come home, lift the bonnet, attach the trickle charger and then goes inside. Problem solved.. kinda.

Let me know if you want more detail. I will call the bro and find out exactly what is wrong with it.

i would be putting amp meter across the battery terminal to it,s lead, these things can take a while to go to sleep (new cars),then go around unplugging stuff till you find it.

all wiring diagrams are on CD, CD costs $195 & only avaliable to MTAA registered mechanics/sparkies....this is what I was told at my local Holden (known them for 20+ years) also have a WH Stato (non caprice) had no issues touch wood..good luck with it...

OK finally got hold of the bro. He took his to an auto electrician. He rekons he knew what the issue is. Now there is a mobile phone module in the boot of the car. On the passenger side. This is constantly trying to dial out to tell the satalites where it is, or something along those lines. When this module is unplugged, the drain on the battery stops. No worries, just leave it unplugged..... NOPE car will not run with it unplugged, probably thinks it is stolen or something.

So the solution, just go buy a trickle charger and plug it in after each drive. And that solution came from the Auto Electrician.

Brother has given up fixing it now, it is just habit for him to plug it in.
