Have just discovered my brothers ej van has the x2 manifold and 2 piece headers. The block has HP cast into it.The previous owner has said it is a 179 block. The question is how do you tell from the outside what size block it is.Engine number has an M in it. The motor has twin single strombergs with ramflow filters, celica 5speed,baby cam, went for a drive on the weekend parked down the beach the car got more attention than the ricers and low luxs combined.7 inch torana chromies beat 22s anyday.

HP cast 6 cylinder is early EH 179 block.

M in engine number also confirms EH 179 engine.

X2 block would be 179 cast and engine number starting 179X
