Wanted..... decent running 302/351 plus maybe gearbox (c4 or singlerail/toploader) .
I want to put a v8 into my old 6 cyl XY falcon.
Would appreciate any advice/suggestions and also if anyone has any parts I might need.
Look, not being rude but if you're after $1000 for a fancy bonnet then don't bother......not interested in stupid "give me $300 for this matching numbers ciggy lighter knob" type rubbish..... I don't care about numbers, don't care about what it looks like, just want something that will work and is cheap. My car is rough as guts as it is.

May I suggest buying an old Fairlane or Falcon V8 that is rusted. That way most the the parts you need are there and then you sell off what'd left over. Being an XY they didn't have the cross flow radiator like the XA onward V8s and the diffs in the lat

The stock diff will be ok, as long as you don't thrash it, so I won't really worry about the diff etc.
I'll ask what he wants for the rusty xd.
