my son and i have a 12/1975 xc falcon we r currently doing a lil bit with and have come to realise that it is a 12/1975 xc falcon and it has a chalk number 48 on the front at the bottom of the radiator support panel; and was wondering if there was anyone that could give us a lil more info on what if anything this means. as far as we can see it has never been apart and has been garaged all its life.
cheers w |

Interesting. What are the specs with the car? Is it a base Falcon, 500, GS? Has it got the rear vents at the back window? The XC firewall started to show in the XBs around late 75 I think so it very well could have been one of the pre delivery vehicles

wouldnt worry about the body number stamping. I have had xcs stamped both on the top shock plate and on the "tongue" that comes across the top of it, i think that just depends on how much the bloke cared.

It could have been a pilot vehicle, a pre production test for checking that there was no build issues before it went into mass production. I worked at Ford in early ninety's and we were running ED & EF pilots while still building EB's
