This is from oldholden.com 149, 179, 161, 186 gasket seat 3/4" reach: These are resistor type plugs. Champion Gold RN12YX6 NGK BPR5ES-11 Bosch WR8DC+ That accurate? People also seem to list between 1 and 1.5mm for the gap on an HEI ignition. Edited by user Sunday, 15 November 2009 2:46:11 AM(UTC)

Stick with 36 to 38 thou gap . Better performance, no pinging and dont use resistor style plugs in old engines .

Cool, i think i was running close to 60thou before my Brisks. And why not use resistor type plugs? Edit: found some stuff. The resistance is to suppress radio interference and reduce electrode erosion. Apparently modern cars have resistance in the leads, so are we to assume modern leads are this way and theres no need to use resistor plugs? They also mention though that theres no effect on performance. Edited by user Sunday, 15 November 2009 11:07:00 PM(UTC)
