yeah jims right, he is for real and will most likely sell them

12 months ago i would of said he will defantly sell them but very soon there will repros for sale, all reports are that the quality of these guards is exellent, and the price will be around the $500 each mark

there are people out there who WILL ONLY buy NOS for there restos (mainly the concours dudes) but most others will rather save a little $$$ where they can

this is my opion only others may disagree

From memory a single Monaro NOS guard sold for around $4,800 last year. So considering that, it may be a bargain.

Dont be surprised if he sells them, I sold a set of A9X rims for $10000.00 a while ago and when the bloke picked them up said he would have been prepared to pay $30000.00

canno!! brother,

unreal these blokes, the fact is that we are in a recession, can you imagine if we were not in recession????????
people have got too much money, and stuff is too cheap, just like food, look at all the fattys around?? if food was more expensive, we would have less obsesity, same as cars, if cars were more expensive, there would be less traffic etc, we created a monster here with cheap cars, fuel but same goes for most stuff i guess..but, i dunno, maybe im just a grumpy old tool????

I innovate, never imitate..

Your onto it Franko my boy, there are a lot of complaints about sellers on Ebay but when it all boils down if you dont want it dont buy it. The auction fever hits people as well and they get carried away.
Remember no idiot buyers and there cannot possibly be any idiot sellers.
I know of a bloke doing a 327 and his bill is going to get up to around the 300 to 350K mark so to him those gaurds would be a steal.

To put my sale of A9X rims into a bit of perspective the bloke who bought my A9X rims, he only paid 8K and 16K for his 2 A9X sedans with hotwires on them as in those days A9X owners threw those ugly, wierd looking stock rims away, so spending a little bit more on the original rims is small change in his scheme of things, see what I mean.

At first i thought the topic said $700 for the pair and i thought, maybey $1500 and then was wondering what the fuss was about.
I missed the extra 0!!!!!
If someone wants to spend that kind of money well,
Great luck for the seller though.

But imagine driving the car in a bit of traffic, with all the Jap plastic pulling out in front of you, tailgaters and what happened to me recently,a delivery truck not looking over his shoulders and side-swiping you!!!

How on earth can you relax and enjoy your car?
I know i would never be able to.

You have to realise most of the idiots are getting weeded out of the market now. Prices on all this stuff is going south as people are refusing to pay stupid money. This is typical of any overvalued asset bubble.

Most of the tools who would pay $15,000 for an old holden set of guards are already in bankruptcy court as they refinanced the house, lost their "100 grand/year washing a truck on a minesite" job and are back to being a $30k/year milko with a $450,000 additional mortgage.

Relax, these things are all cyclical and youre right..supply and demand is normalising. They always rabbit on about some $300k + Monaro but they fail to mention there are only a handful of cars being passed between speculators that are trading for those sorts of dollars. The one left holding the baby when the music stops wont be happy, but thats the risk they take.

We are in the process of experiencing the biggest assett bubble this country has ever known...mainly housing but also things like old cars (fueled by easy credit to bogans who lack the financial sophistication to make hay while the sun shines).

Laugh all you want. Well see whos right in the long run.
