Hi all.
Just wondering if anyone has much info on the top 30 VH SL/E dealer specials that were sent out in 1982 or so by Holden. I know they had a unique 2 tone interior and paint job and they had a Brock/HDT 308 in them. I have been lucky enough to score myself one in mint condition with everything there. Apart from an old wheels mag and a small article in AMC, I havent been able to find much more info. I suppose theres not really much more to be said about them as they are what they are.. But if anyone Dr terry, Mick, Byron?? has any more info on them id be much obliged...

Anyway mine was given to Freemans of Adelaide. Its sitting under 2 layers of car cover at the moment but I will post some pics when I get around to it.

Cheers

Hi Hainzy,
A month or two ago when I was looking for VH SL/Es on carsales or one of those sites, a Top 30 VH came up. The interior and engine bay was original from memory but it had been re-sprayed in silver and had VK front indicators etc. However if you want to compare the interior pics to yours it may be of interest. Not sure if its still on there but worth a look.

I also saw a very small article in Wheels (I think) a couple of months ago. Just a few paragraphs about the Top 30 VH. Someone here might be able to assist with what month issue it was if youre interested.

Hope this helps,
Rhys

AMC (Aussie Muscle Car) mag - pretty sure its the one with the GTR-X on the cover, had a small article on it.
Wheels mag did cover it back in 81 (I have a copy somewhere).

Theres plenty of pics of modded ones floating around on commodore forums like streetcommodores.com

They basically had a VC Brock spec engine (not VH spec - it wasnt released in HDT form yet). It had the Chev aircleaner from the VC brock, big valve heads etc.

The plaque on the glovebox denotes the dealer it was allocated to, and the same plaques also made it onto early HDT VH ADP SL/Es.

The claret interior had the cream vynil highlights (more of a low light really!) on the rear of the seats & headrests, and the tops of the door trims.

Cheers,

Mick
