Hi all i want to remove my steering wheel to replace the indicator cam behind it I have reoved the nut but i just cant get the wheel to come off I have sprayed wd 40 on the spindle tried rocking it side to side pulling it like hell it wont budge any suggestions

make a steering wheel puller or get ur hands on one and it should come off no worries

Here's another old trick but for goodness sake be gentle doing this. For starters put the nut partially back on. You don't want to lose some teeth when this sucker flies off. Screw the nut until it is sitting flush with the top thread. Gently tap ( and

bad idea to even gently tap the nut on the steering wheel, it is very fragile and chances are you will tip the nut to one side and stuff the centre column then you will have to pull the whole steering column out and replace the centre column.
Buy or make

We used to do it in a Holden dealer by loosening the nut until it was finger tight and then hitting the back of the steering wheel with the palms of both hands keeping them 180 degrees apart and working our way around the steering wheel.

Like I said, make the nut flush with the thread. As long as you're careful a gentle tap with a hammer won't hurt the column. You're more sending a vibration down the shaft than trying to whack the hell out of it. Even a rubber mallet works. It just hel
