Terry I think you were collecting numbers weren't you? a friend has bought a HZ Sandman, it is in quite nice condition, that red/orangey colour. It has the full length roof lining but the rear trim section is different from the front. It has a GTS type dash with the air con vents but no air, I think it has been fitted after, as the blower is the standard heater box type and the control switch is the standard one. It has all the decals, in nice condition also, it could be an older conversion. The numbers on the id plates are: HZ panel van 09-77 A HZ01614A 1950 Next plate: 8M70RH Z 3945297 Next plate: Model HZ8VM70 Body 394529-A Trim 1933 63V Paint 568-30524 Eng Top L32 Trans M20 R axle GV 7

Don't know what the "top" represents, and some of the numbers might be wrong as they were a bit corroded and hard to read. Given that, what is this car? Is it genuine, where was it made, what is the correct colour, and what is the mechanical (eng box diff) specis? I probably can get a photo but not for a while. He would like to know a bit more about the car, can you help? Thanks.

John, it's me who is collecting ID. TOP is literaly the top paint of the car, if it is two tone.

It's an early Elizabeth (Adelaide) build, 253, 4-speed, 3.55 diff, buckskin trim. Unsure of the colour. It's definitely a Sandman, as it has the 10cwt GVM

John

Only mistake in the ID that I can see is:

8M70RHZ3945297 should be 8M70RHL394529Z.

You've got the PSN correct as you copied it the same off both plates. The paint will be correct as 1933 is the same as 30524, I just don't have a record as

Hi Guys.

Ditto to what Byron has said.

The colour is Valencia Orange.
