can some help me please, my wifes car wont go and it is stuck in town, if you turn the key it starts but dies straight away

so i called a auto elec who came out and brought his scan tool, he pluged it in and it says

7 PCM data lost
8 PCM vechicle speed data unstable

the key/s have been playing up for a while, sometimes they lock/unlock the car sometimes they dont, unsure if that related or not?

the auto elec tried re-programing the key thinking it was a key error but it wouldn't let him, it was on his knockoff time so he said he'd come back in the morning, i got the impression he didn't know what was wrong

can anyone offer some advice please, what do these codes mean?

welcome to the world of modern cars control are network wiring problems or softwear problems.
i had a au falcon on the week end that needed a peremiter reset (quite common)
one computer wont talk to another.
in your case disocnnecting the battery tends to reset everything.
with commodore im sure you can only program the remote ONCE.
this is now why the computers can be reflashed if there is a problem in the softwear, no need to replace the pcm or other modules.
the doc or commodore nut might be able to shed some light.
if it happens again i would check battery, charge rate earth point etc unplug and reconnect evrything.
pete.
