Any ideas for getting overspray off plastic bits (like the plastic connector for the vacuum line on the brake booster for example?)

Had a bad experience with thinners once and dont want to try again.

Try using some of that steel wool that has the soap in it.

Jif or Ajax creamy cleanser, hard toothbrush or nail brush and a rinse in water and away you go, no scratches.

For stubborn paint spots on plastic use the edge of a credit card or one of those plastic scrapers.
