just bought new temp gauge which is fahreheit(oh well)what is considered a safe max tempature to run a 308 stroker in celsius or farenheit

My last engine that was woefully under cooled used to sit on 200/210f and i didnt really like that.

current engine makes about 450hp and sits around 185f.

I wouldnt be happy with constant 200+ temps, at around 220 youve got problems and id be pulling over to look for a hose, and much hotter than that itll be teardown time for rings and headgaskets.

whats safe is a controlled temperature for the load, 210 at idle isnt as bad as 210 at 80kph.

ive got an efi 308 in my hx and it had an 80c thermostat in.
my mechanic told me to swap it for a 92 deg one as that is the demp holden had them tunned for.

92 celsius = 197.6 fahrenheit.

Thermostat fully opens at 94C so around there somewhere.
