Just trying to help out a mate with a AU3 Auto that is in what I think is "Limp mode" it will not change to fourth gear from 3rd.
Questions,

Is this a common fault with these cars?

What would be the most likely cause of this fault?

How safe is it to drive this car distance - he is stuck in Sydney and needs to be back in Melbourne, if he took it easy could it make it?
Matt

hi buddy yeah its a common prob they are not the same as a ba the most likely cause of the problem would be the reverse neutral switch witch is located on the left hand side of the gbox i think they are about 70 to 80 bucks new but if you had to get home
