i have a 327 that is a 660 casting but engine no is T0709hk does this mean any thing to any one does any one know what it would have been fitted to

If that is all there is on the engine number tab, then it is an engine that was originally fitted to a car in the US. The HK at the end may be the give away as to what car it was fitted, but holden did not use the suffix.

Just rechecked image I took of block and sure its hk but also noticed there are 7 or 8 very faint nos that I never noticed will have a look tomorow and try and read thought my eyesight was better than that

its a 1968 2 bolt mains 327 passenger car or truck(they were used in both),made in tonawanda,originally a 4 bbl, powerglide.
power varies between 210 hp to 300 hp depending on the top(heads etc)

All early HK GTS327 and all 1968 Parisiennes and Impalas assembled by GMH had Tonnawanda engines, so it could be one of them. Just check the K on the end isnt a 5. If it is its an original HK GTS327 engine that has been decked and only the Tonnawanda stamps remain. Only hassle is the 0709 doesnt ring quite true. Check its not 0509 also. If its defintely HK on the end then its one of the following:

1968 327 250hp 4BBL Powerglide from a full size Chevy;
1969 350 300hp 4BBL Powerglide from a full size Chevy.

sorry took so long but finnally got block numbers the first numbers are 181781639 although we think 7 may be t very hard to tell the next numbers are as stated and definitly end in hk i also have a .60 thou 660 block probably needs sleeves the number on this is 18720791T0506hj any ideas on this one it was in a hq prem certed as 350 but is 327
