The last quiz proved so popluar (5 page thread in a little over one day) that I bowed to popular demand & rushed out No. 2. I tried to make the questions less contentious, but be careful there are a few tricky' ones. The aim is to better DA Barnes' score of 6.5.
1. Which series Australian Holden was first to feature Variatronic (variable effort) power steering ? 2. What was the first Holden (of any type) to feature a fuel injected engine. 3. What series Australian Holden had the first modern ABS system ? (The Delco Moraine anti-lock drum system in the mid 70s does not count.) 4. What was the first Holden (of ay type) to be factory fitted with a turbo-charged engine ? 5. What series Australian Holden was the first to feature factory-fitted cruise control ? 6. What series Holden was the first to feature metallic paint ? 7. What company manufactured the manual transaxle (gearbox) used in the Camira ? 8. When did the TH700 automatic change its name to the 4L60 & why ? 9. What was the smallest engine fitted to a Holden SS or Commodore SS (not counting the Torana LX SS) ? 10. What was the first Holden (of any type) that came standard with a 5-speed manual gearbox ?
Rules.
1. Australian Holden means just that, any Holden built in Australia at a GM-H factory. 2. As before, any Holden means any car normally accepted as a Holden & wearing a Lion badge (BTW the HQ-WB Statesman does have Lion badges). No Chevs, Vauxhalls, Bedfords or Pontiacs etc. 3. Byron, Warren & BS cannot enter.
Happy answering.
Dr Terry.

The 4L60 is a product of GM Powertrain as is the LS1 engine. Neither is a Chevrolet item. Those people who say there new Commodore has a Chevy V8 are fooling themselves. A small block Chev it is not. Dont know when the 4L60 came into being though.
Ill keep reading.
