When I swapped to gts dash, the fuel guage started working backwards. The Prem is on duel fuel, the pink and tan wires are on the right plugs at the back of the guage, but the gts unit doesn't have as many plugs or the earth block on the back like the standard guage. would simple swapping tan & pink wires over reverse the way the guage works or am i going to have to look at the wiring for Gas.
Cheers Dutchy.

I'm pretty sure it's the sender unit that's different.

Hi Dutchy.
Holdenute is correct, the fault is that the sender unit is the wrong one.
The difference is not between GTS & non-GTS, it is between early & late HQ.
'71 & '72 HQs use a magnetic style gauge that reads quite fast but is erratic.

Dr Terry / Holdenute, So if I understand correctly. Since my HQ Prem is from earily 74, the GTS guage is probably from earily HQ's. Putting an earily model sender at the fuel Tnk will show up the correct way on both fuels. Currently shows 3/4 on gas when

Given that you are experiencing the same apparent problem with more than one guage, I'd suggest on this occasion that perhaps you should try reversing the polarity to these two devices. Normally, just having a fuel guage reading backwards in an HQ indicat |

Sorry, I'm not running two guages. The Gas was set up to run of the standard guage. So when I flick from petrol to gas, the guage will simply move to what ever the fuel level is per particular Tnk.

I've got the same setup on my HZ 1-tonner. I think that what you are saying is the that the guage reads wrong on both fuels. Changing the sender unit on the petrol tank will fix it for petrol, but not for gas as the gas guage will be emulating the later s |

Hi Dutchy.
I assume that your temp & oil gauges read correctly, it is only the fuel gauge giving you problems.
If that is the case, if you put in a '74 fuel & oil gauge your fuel gauge problem will be fixed, but you will then have a problem with the |
